Job Vacancy

Our client is an award winning Building Services Consultancy providing MEP and Vertical Transportation advice to Construction, Facilities and Property professionals across all sectors of the Built Environment.

The business is based upon strong technical and practical principles, developed over many years operating within the mechanical and electrical industry.  With a high value placed on the academic understanding of energy efficiency and building physics, using this technology to provide cost effective intelligent Building Services solutions, in response to the complex nature of modern construction.

The company has gone to great lengths to adopt the very latest methods and concepts to ensure every project meets the requirements of low carbon legislation, through the use of passive and active systems that balance capital expenditure against whole life cycle cost.

With a strong northern presence which includes offices in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, this high functioning MEP practice is well placed to deliver a wide range of technical services to buildings of mixed size and use. With a strong reputation built in particular across commercial, residential, education, retail and leisure, the design team of circa 60 staff are well equipped and highly trained, collaborating across offices to ensure smooth delivery of projects.

The Leeds office continues to embrace organic growth, with 2 appointments seen as key moving into the second half of 2024 and early planning for 2025:

  • Senior Electrical Design Engineer
  • Building Physics Engineer

As a Building Physics Engineer you will assist with the development of energy and sustainability strategies for new build and existing buildings.

Duties will include:

• Building regulations compliance modelling (Part L/EPC)

• Thermal comfort analysis (TM52, TM59 & BB101)

• Passive design and low-zero carbon technology studies

• Supporting Net-Zero operational energy studies for new and retrofit projects

• Input into supporting planning documents e.g. Energy & Carbon strategies

• Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint

• Developing an understanding of Operational Energy Consumption in Buildings (TM54)

Applications are invited from talented Engineers/Consultants with the relevant skills and experience driving industry standard software such as as IES-VE, TAS or DesignBuilder. With energy modelling such an important part of carbon control, it is essential all interested parties are passionate about energy reduction and willing to invest time and effort to ensure every project produces maximised results.

In return for your hard work and efforts, you can look forward to being a shareholder as the company operates an employee ownership trust (EOT), inviting all employees to share in the success and profits of the company’s performance.
