I’m working with an established building services consultancy that’s continuing to grow its Electrical Building Services team in Warrington. Due to sustained project workload, they’re looking to appoint Electrical Designers from strong intermediate through to senior/principal level.
This is a pure building services design role within a consultancy environment, focused on well-considered, coordinated electrical systems rather than contractor-side detailing or installation delivery.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the design and development of electrical building services systems across a range of projects, working closely with mechanical, public health and BIM teams.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Electrical building services design from concept through detailed design
- Low voltage power distribution and small power design
- Internal and external lighting design, including emergency lighting
- Fire alarm and life safety system design
- Earthing and bonding strategies
- Preparing calculations, specifications, reports and design drawings
- Coordinating services within Revit and participating in BIM-led workflows
- Liaising with clients, architects and other design disciplines
- Mentoring junior designers and supporting technical quality (for senior/principal level)
What They’re Looking For
- Experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy or design-focused environment
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations, BS standards and best practice
- Ability to manage your own design workload and contribute to project delivery
- Comfortable working within multidisciplinary design teams
- Revit/BIM experience preferred, but strong technical ability is the priority
